Welfengarten: park closed at night

Restriction on use of park from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am remains in effect year round.

A kind reminder: a number of years ago, ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ (LUH) reacted to the issue of excessive noise and litter in the Welfengarten park area behind the main university building by implementing clear regulations. Groups of people still regularly meet up behind the Welfenschloss during the evening and the night, partying loudly and leaving their garbage spread over large areas.

This is a major disturbance for the neighbours, the quality of the park has deteriorated for all users, and the property, which is part of the Herrenhausen Gardens, has experienced significant damage. This is why LUH, whose property the Welfengarten is part of, decided last year to implement a permanent, year-round restriction on the use of the park from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am. Loud music is also prohibited at all times. Both regulations are posted on permanent signs and are monitored. Where necessary, they are enforced by the police.

Once again, the university management asks visitors not to leave their garbage in the park. A total of 35 garbage bins, a station for collecting beer-bottle caps, and a container for charcoal barbecue briquettes at the Callinstraße exit are available.
