In March 2015, the Presidential Board of ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ approved the development of an integrated climate protection concept. The one-year development process began at the start of 2016. It included the generation of an energy and CO2 balance; the participation of stakeholders in the discussion and development of areas of action; the analysis and preparation of scenarios; the development of an implementation, communication and monitoring concept; and the presentation of a catalogue of activities.

In 2022, an update and expansion of the Integrated Climate Protection Concept was approved. This update was carried out by the Green Office team and members of the . The basis for the update was the university’s decision to commit to achieving climate neutrality by 2031 as part of the . The amended version was noted and approved by the Senate at the end of 2022 and published at the beginning of 2023.
