Doctoral Student Representatives

The doctoral student representatives represent all the faculties at ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ and the Leibniz Research Schools which have been granted the right to confer doctorates. The representatives facilitate interdisciplinary and inter-faculty exchange on matters relating to doctoral studies. They thus contribute to further promoting a transdisciplinary, cooperative and international doctoral culture at ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ.

Structure

The doctoral student representatives send one representative to the Senate and one representative to the Executive Board of the Graduate Academy. The Spokesperson's Council represents the doctoral student representatives externally.

Elections

The doctoral student representatives are elected every two years in January. The representatives' term of office begins on 1 April of the year in which the elections took place.

Regulations

The regulations for doctoral student representation (in German)form the basis of the doctoral student representatives' work. They are supplemented by the rules of procedure (in German) which the doctoral student representatives adopted on 29 June 2017.

Miscellaneous

Together with the doctoral student representatives at eight other universities in Lower Saxony, the doctoral student representatives at ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ have written an open letter on the amendment of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (NHG). In the open letter, the doctoral student representatives call for the strengthening of the right to participation in higher education policy.
