As part of its press and public relations work, Communications and Marketing liaises with the media and serves as an intermediary between the university and the public. This includes advising and strategically positioning the president and vice presidents in media relations and internal communications. The spokesperson speaks for the university on behalf of the president.
What we do
- We communicate developments related to university policy and position the Presidential Board and the university in the context of current debates.
- We provide targeted information to the media on research findings, new projects and current topics of interest at Ƶ.
- We are the interface between the media and the university for all media enquiries.
- We provide media representatives with contact information for experts on research, teaching and university policy.
- We inform the public about new developments via the website and social media.
- We issue authorisations for film teams and photographers.
- We produce films that outline Ƶ’s research and current activities at the university in an accessible and easy-to-understand way.
- We coordinate the university’s internal communication - for example, through the “Leibniz leben – uni intern” employee newsletter.
